Reiter Syndrome

Reiter Syndrome
Can't see / Can't pee / Can't climb a tree
Conjunctivitis / Urethritis / Arthritis

Alfa Thalassemia Trait Mnemonic
Two genotypes of the two alfa chain deletions
cis configuration --/aa Common in Asians
trans configuration -a/-a Common in African Americans

To remember these remember that:

* cis configuration implies a horizontal orientation just like the wide horizontal Asia continent
* trans configuration implies vertical orientation just like the tall and narrow African continent

Here's a quick mnemonic

Just remember that a right shift is TAMED with CO2

CO2 --- that's obvious
T ---- Temperature
A ---- Acidosis
M ---- Methemoglobin
E ---- Exercise
D ---- 2,3 Diphosphoglycerate DPG

Any increase (not decrease) in these will shift to the right

Needless to say that everything else will shift the curve to the left such as HbF, Carbon monoxide, decreased DPG as in stored blood, alkalosis, decreased PCO2, hypothermia, and high altitude

in High altitude the shift to the left is initial
then the curve shift to the right
